What you'll hear about

Session tracks covered across the conference.

This session will explore the various sources of microplastic contamination in agricultural soils and the pathways through which these pollutants enter terrestrial ecosystems. Understanding these mechanisms is crucial for developing effective monitoring and mitigation strategies.
This track focuses on the effects of microplastic presence on soil health, including alterations in soil structure, nutrient availability, and microbial activity. Investigating these impacts is essential for assessing the overall functionality of agricultural soils.
This session will address the mechanisms by which crops uptake microplastics and the subsequent bioaccumulation in plant tissues. The implications for food safety and human health will also be discussed.
This track will examine the interactions between soil microorganisms and microplastics, focusing on how these interactions influence microbial communities and soil health. The role of microorganisms in the degradation and transformation of microplastics will also be highlighted.
This session will investigate the adsorption characteristics of microplastics in soil and their potential leaching into water systems. Understanding these processes is vital for assessing the environmental risks associated with microplastic contamination.
This track will explore the influence of various fertilization practices on the dynamics of microplastics in agricultural soils. The interaction between fertilizers and microplastics may have significant implications for soil health and crop productivity.
This session will focus on the methodologies and technologies used for monitoring microplastic contamination in agricultural soils. Effective monitoring is essential for understanding the extent of contamination and informing land management practices.
This track will discuss the frameworks and methodologies for assessing the risks posed by microplastics in terrestrial ecosystems. Evaluating these risks is crucial for developing regulatory measures and land management strategies.
This session will explore innovative soil remediation techniques aimed at mitigating microplastic contamination in agricultural soils. The effectiveness and sustainability of these techniques will be critically evaluated.
This track will investigate the interactions between microplastics and soil sediments, focusing on transport mechanisms and sediment-bound microplastic dynamics. Understanding these interactions is key to assessing the broader environmental impact of microplastics.
This session will examine existing regulatory frameworks and policy implications related to microplastic contamination in agricultural soils. The discussion will highlight the need for comprehensive policies to safeguard soil health and food safety.
